Space Jammer is a music crawler which shuffles randomly through the artist-pages of MySpace®. It loads the player it found and plays the song(s).

To work with Space Jammer you need a fast internet connection, a working soundcard and Adobe flash 9. Space Jammer needs only 30MB discspace cause it doesn't download the musicfiles.

Installation:

The installation of Space Jammer is very easy. Just follow the instructions of the installer. Space Jammer do not make any entries in the registry or in the system folders. It has everything it needs on board, which means, in its program folder.
Its also very easy to uninstall Space Jammer. Run the uninstaller or delete the Space Jammer folder itself. Delete also the entries in the startmenu. Thats all, no magic.

Vista Users(!) have to install in 'Program Files'. Don't install in other folders. Vista get problems if the program folder is not called 'Program Files'.

At start it loads the player of the "startband" while it is creating its initial playlist in the background.
Depending on the speed of your internet connection could this take some minutes.

Next Artist After: Sets the playtime for each artist	The flashplayers of the bands are a kind of "black boxes" for the Space Jammer. It doesn't knows anything about what the player is actually doing. Wether it is playing, which song it is playing, the length of the song - nothing! So the only way to change automatically to the next artist is to select a playtime, after which Space Jammer is skipping to the next band in the playlist.
Playlist: Selecting a playlist	Space Jammer has two kinds of playlists. The MySpace playlist which contains the artists it found in the pages of MySpace Music and the favorite list, which contains the artists of a loaded favorite playlist. You can switch between this two lists when ever you like.
Choose Browser Choose the Browser for the Space Jammer	With this option you can choose the browser for the Space Jammer. A fileselectbox will open. Search for the browser.exe (f.e C:/Program Files/Internet Explorer/iexplore.exe). Pressing 'OK' will safe the selected browser as the default browser for the Space Jammer.
Clear Audiocache Erases all temporary audiofiles in the internet-cache	The MySpace flashplayer is streaming its audiodata. That means, he is making a temporary download into the 'Temporary Internet Folder' and playing the musicfiles from there. After playing is done the player is not erasing the temporary files(!), so that the internet-cache is growing more and more. With the "Erase"-option, Space Jammer deletes all audiofiles in the internet-cache. With the "Move"-option you can move the audiofiles from the internet-cache into a different folder.

Generate New Playlist: Select the country(s) and genre(s) and generate a new playlist	The heart of Space Jammer is the playlist. It includes the names of the artists it will play. To generate a playlist, you have to select one or more countrie(s) and one or more genre(s). You can also save the countries or genres you have choosen as individual settings. This picture shows the chart-range. Whilst MySpace is offering only Top-100 chart-range for every genre and country, Space Jammer can search in the MySpace charts up to Top-100000. At programstart: At programstart Space Jammer is loading the last selections as startsettings. Generating a playlist could take some time, depending on the number of genres and countries. Whilst Space Jammer is generating the first playlist in the background, he is playing the startband. You can copy a favorite list from "/Favorites/Presets" into the "/Favorites" folder and rename it "startband". Then Space Jammer takes the startband out of this list. While generating a new playlist, the statusbar gives you detailed information about what Space Jammer is actually doing. The number of lists it found, the number of artists it found inside the lists (each list contains 10-30 artists) and the number of valid player it found on the artistpages.
Load Artist Page: Type in a friend-ID or a MySpace name to load an artist	Every MySpace artist has a number, a friend-ID. You will find this numbers f.e. in the Top-100 list. You can type-in the friend-ID or the MySpace name of an artist to load his player. If Space Jammer has skipped to the next artist in the playlist, you just have to open "Entry Friend-ID" and press <ENTER>. Than it will play the previous artist again.
Artist On The Web: Go to the record shop of the artist or start a web-search	Space Jammer sends an optimized search-query to Amazon, Musicload, Google, Last-FM, Wikipedia , and others. So it is very easy to look for the record of an artist or to search for more information.
Search At MySpace: Search for a bandname in the repertoire of MySpace (a remote of the MySpace searchform)	You want to check wether an artist is member of MySpace? First type in the name of the artist. Space Jammer will then inform you about the number of matching names. To get detailed information and the link to the music of the artist(s), you will have to parse for details. This can take some time, especially if the number of matching artists is very big (more than 200). If the parsing of the details is allready done, you will get a list of all matching artists. With a double-click on the names Space Jammer will load their player. You can stop the search by pressing <Escape>.
Last Search: The last search result of the MySpace search	By pressing <L> you can load the last search result. You can sort the view by name, country or genre (the playlist itself will not be sorted). You can load an artist with double-clicking the entry.


Next Artist: Skip to the next artist in the playlist	Space Jammer is collecting 10 artists for the creation of a new playlist. With "Next Artist", or alternatively the <SPACE> button, you can walk through the playlist. If only two artists are left, Space Jammer is creating a new playlist in the background.


Add / Load Favorites: Add an artist as favorite or load a favorites-playlist	Space Jammer supports the creation of favorite lists. A favorite list is a small textfile which contains the names of artists (and some more information). By adding an artist to a favorite list, his name will be append to the end of the selected list. You can add an artist to an existing list or create a new one. Creating a new list is as simple as adding to an existing list. Select " new list " in the pulldown menu. A small text-entry box opens. Type in the name of the band and klick <OK> Loading Favorites: Sorted: Loads the favorites in alphabetical order Random: Loads the favorites in random order As soon as the favorites are loaded Space Jammer switches the playlist from 'MySpace' to 'Favorites'. You can change the playlist again in the settingsmenu -> 'Playlist'.
Artist at MySpace: Add artist as friend or send him a message	If you have a MySpace account, you can send directly out of the Space Jammer friend-requests, comments or messages to an artist. On your first visit you will be asked for login and password. If you don't close the browser after being logged in, you will never be asked again. From now on you can send messages, comments, requests, etc. very fast and comfortable. This last option only works with the Internet Explorer.

Once in the future Space Jammer will place a clipwindow on top of the player. This window shall show flashmovies, made by the artists. That could be shortfilms, animations or epk's for example.

With a right mouse click on the moviepanel you can cancel the actual clip.

Minimize the window:

Click on the program-icon in the taskline to hide or open the Space Jammer window.
